RAW LIFESTYLE TIPS
Living a Raw Vegan Lifestyle is fun! It’s opened up a whole new world of raw food restaurants and has made meal preparation at home super simple.
Yes, you can be 100% Raw Vegan, eat out and socialize with your friends, family and business associates. Eating at a restaurant that serves Raw Vegan meals makes life really easy. “Raw BC” has a great list of Raw Restaurants at www.rawbc.org.
When I’m at a cooked food restaurant I order a meal size salad with greens (usually romaine), cucumber & tomato and ask them to toss it all with fresh Guacamole as dressing. Sometimes guacamole is not on the menu, so I simply order a really big fruit salad. If you choose to drink alcohol, all wine is fermented, and therefore a raw beverage.
So what’s a “mono meal”? It’s the simplest raw meal you’ll ever eat. It’s eating one fruit or fat as an entire meal. For example, one of my favorite breakfasts is 3 cups of fresh squeezed orange juice with pulp. That’s 3 pounds of oranges!! Crazy good.
I like to add greens to my mono meals at most lunches. Bananas wrapped in romaine leaves are fantastic. Usually a pound of bananas with 6oz of romaine leaves does the trick for me.
Dinner at home? It varies. Sometimes fruit with more greens or fats (avocado or raw nuts) with greens (celery or romaine). Then again, some nights, banana mango “ice cream” just calls my name - 8oz of frozen banana and 6oz of frozen mango, blended in a VitaMix - heavenly!
Now there are lots of fun things to do other than eat... Meet a friend for a walk, a hike, go snow shoeing, cycling, skiing or see a movie. The list goes on. So get out there, have fun and enjoy your Raw Lifestyle!
