RVN: What is the raw-vegan diet? 

CARLA: The raw vegan diet consists of nutritiously dense foods such as uncooked (raw) organic vegetable, fruits, sprouts and nuts.  These are Nature’s healing foods packed with vitamins, minerals and powerful antioxidants.  It’s a diet that anybody from any lifestyle can benefit from, whether you follow a 100%, 80% or 50% raw diet.  As a result, you will experience natural weight loss, vibrant health, and total wellbeing to name a few of the benefits.  What makes the raw-vegan diet so special is that you can create amazing foods that often resemble the current foods we are accustomed to eating, making the transition and easier one.  The decision to experience vibrant health and quality of life is in your hands.  Choose wisely.

RVN: What is it you do in the field of raw foods exactly?  

CARLA:  I devote a lot of my time doing independent research on natural health.  As a natural health advocate I present the facts and create awareness to empower people in making naturally based decisions when it comes to their health and their family’s.  The rest of the time I spend it in the kitchen creating delectable combinations with my greatest critics, my husband and little girl.  Our taste buds are very different and if we can’t all agree, we modify the recipe to suit everyone’s palate, this way you can feel confident that our raw foods are not only healthy, but tasty.

RVN: How did you get interested in the diet?  

CARLA:  I bumped into it during one of my researches.  It was an answered prayer and my life has changed for the better since.

RVN:  What do you eat in a day typically? 

CARLA:  I always start out my morning with a smoothie made of coconut water and coconut meat and flax meal or bee pollen, with a combination of either berries, bananas, plantains, carob, Goji berries or super foods like Spirulina.  When I want to give it a twist, I’ll make a Chai or Mocha smoothie.  Power packed smoothies usually hold me over for quite some time.  During the day a drink plenty of water and enjoy small snacks like oranges, apples with almond butter or flax crackers with red pepper humus, for example.  I also enjoy a flax wrap filled with pate, sprouts and sliced avocados.  There are so many possibilities it’s hard to get bored with the foods you can create.  When I want a fun dessert, I make a German “Chocolate” Cake with “Chocolate” Frosting, both kid and parent approved for outstanding flavor!  There’s nothing more delicious and guiltless than raw foods.

RVN:  How can people benefit from your services? 

CARLA:  After my mother experienced a massive heart attack at a very young age I knew I had to find an answer for disease prevention.  I lived in constant fear that the same would happen to me.  How liberating it felt to know that I have complete control of my health!  After a long road and much research I am certain that the raw-vegan lifestyle is the answer to many illnesses and total wellbeing.  My heart goes out to people suffering needlessly when many conditions can be treated naturally.  When working with an individual, I first present myself as a person, then as a mom, and lastly as a coach.  It is important to be in touch with our humanity.  I want every person to experience an awakening of their mind, body and spirit, whether by lifestyle coaching, or by something as simple as eating the right foods.  This is a labor of love and a 100% of it goes into the meals we create and the services we provide.
